2016 has been extremely exciting and we have made various amount of new discoveries that according to many experts in this area are indications that suggest there is a very high chance that we are not alone in the universe, and 2017 could be the year we get disclosure.
As never before in human history, we are pushing hard on the boundaries of our solar system to find an answer to one the biggest questions of all time, are we alone? We have sent a great deal of satellites and roves yet alone to Mars, and to many people it’s just a matter of time before we find evidence of life on another planet.
Looking back at 2016, we now know for sure that a team of scientists have revealed new research that seems to indicate intelligent aliens beyond planet Earth exist and are trying to communicate with others.
A paper titled “Discovery of peculiar periodic spectral modulations in a small fraction of solar type stars” may not sound like a stunning discovery to most people, but the research paper published in the journal Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific may turn out to be the first step in the quest to establish the presence of intelligent life beyond our solar system.
Even though the scientists warn we must remain calm, and that the signals could be another false alarm, there is a great deal of hope that this year, we will finally find alien life at least microbial, in our solar system.
Dr. Simon Foster, a physicist from Imperial College London said:
“In the past, when we thought we had discovered aliens previously, it was a new form of star called the pulsar. We don’t know hardly anything, and when we come up against something we don’t know or doesn’t fit into our current understanding, it is quite nice to say that it could be aliens, whereas a lot of it is just a phenomenon that we haven’t discovered.”
“Either way there is a breakthrough just around the corner.”
Jupiter and Saturn may be a great place to look for aliens say, experts. With our probes orbiting Jupiter and Saturn, many scientists are optimistic that 2017 could be the year when we finally find life on another planet.
Dr. Foster believes that Cassini, the probe currently studying Saturn and its moons, is the most likely to get results and by the time the Cassini missions ends we could have answers.
“What’s interesting is that one of [Saturn’s] moons, Enceladus, is an icy moon and that leaves the tantalizing prospect of looking for life.”
“The concentration has been on Mars, and I think moons like Enceladus and Europa, there is a good prospect of finding life – even if it’s on a microbial level.”
Also a new discovered planet, orbiting Proxima Centauri, is only 4 light years from Earth could be another place where alien life is likely to exist.
Professor Phillip Lubin, from the University of California, Santa Barbara, told Universe Today: “The discovery of a possible planet around Proxima Centauri is very exciting. It makes the case of visiting nearby stellar systems even more compelling.”
This year, astronomers are going to use a collection of newly developed telescopes to carefully monitor Proxima B and its sun in hope of finding alien life. Also you can argue that we are already being visited by aliens only that this is being kept a secret from us.
